Poetry and Passion: The Music of Astor Piazzolla

From Brahms to Prokofiev

The Seasons

Project: AMERICA

With a mixture of classical and pop music, dressed down and performed in a familiar setting, Lindsay is reaching a whole new generation of audience members in hopes they will become “classified”.

Classified – [klas-uh-fahyd]  The spread of a classic art form to a modern generation in their own natural habitat.

This project targets the most recent generations of Americans who have not grown up with an appreciation for, or knowledge of, classical music. For these generations, finding their way into a concert hall to witness a symphony orchestra perform is far from a reality.

But, Lindsay is bringing the music to them – in bars, restaurants, and clubs. She performs well known, current tunes, as well as light classical repertoire and excerpts from the repertoire for the next symphony concert. She sparks an interest with these younger audiences as she talks about the next symphony performance, the music, the venue, and what this audience can expect to experience when they attend the symphony.

Some of the pieces she plays in these intimate venues include:

Light Classical
Gershwin -  Rhapsody In Blue, Summertime, It Ain’t     Necessarily So
Vivaldi – movements from the Four Seasons
Falla – Spanish Dances
Bernstein – arrangements from West Side Story
Jazz arrangement of Autumn Leaves
Yankee Doodle Variations

Current Contemporary
I Knew You Were Trouble - Taylor Swift
Daylight - Maroon 5
Roar - Lady Gaga
Applause - Lady Gaga
Viva La Vida – Coldplay
